Why do women need my help?

We’ve all been there as women in journalism, media, social and tech.

That feeling you’re not on a level playing field with men when it comes to your work being as respected, your ideas being listened to, your capabilities being acknowledged, or your pastoral needs being met. Confidence can quickly become undermined.

What is coaching and mentoring?

I ‘walk alongside’ women in the media to transform their confidence, to get them feeling empowered, with a healthy work-life balance.

I work with you as you gain clarity on what your goals are, both in and outside of work, and what action is needed to get you to where you want to be.

How does it work?

Working with me 1-2-1 over the phone or by Facetime/Skype you will be encouraged, motivated and challenged with self-reflection and honesty.

I will confidentially support you to develop and achieve your own unique goals for life, work and home, while overcoming barriers, ‘limiting beliefs’ and setbacks along the way.

How do I start?

Call me, WhatsApp or text me, or email for a free coaching session (no obligation for more) and discover how to unlock your confidence and potential.

Anna Lindsay

I believe that to be happy and fulfilled as women working in the fields of journalism, media, social and tech we must not sacrifice our confidence, our work-life balance nor sense of self.

All too often we ‘masculinise’ ourselves in order to succeed and fit in at these traditionally patriarchal industries, losing the confidence to be our authentic female selves along the way.

Then there’s the pressure of being different, sometimes the only female voice in the room, which can lead to devastating feelings of ‘imposter’ syndrome, confidence loss and anxiety.

As a trained coach and mentor, I transform my clients’ confidence, helping them to realise their potential and getting them to where they want to be in both their work and home life.

Having spent 20 years as a senior journalist and news editor at BBC News and BBC Sport, I understand first-hand the demands of working in these tough environments…

What clients say about Anna

Clients who provide testimonials give Anna their written permission for them to be published, in line with coaching ethics and client confidentiality.

“I don’t really know what I’d do without the sessions.”

Sports Producer

“I got my own half-hour radio show as a direct result of the coaching, which would never have happened without it. I now also self-coach a lot too, thinking to myself, ‘what would I discuss with Anna,
how would she coach me through’.”

News Journalist

“I gave myself two years to get the promotion I wanted but coaching with Anna ‘unlocked’ what I needed to do almost immediately. I’ve got a lot more confidence in these situations following coaching.”

Programme Editor

I’ve hugely appreciated having coaching over the last few months. I’m comparatively new to a role at this level, so Anna has been invaluable in talking me through situations and enabling me to see what to do next.
It’s also been a particularly useful source of support during a time when things have been very difficult on a personal level outside of work. I can’t imagine I’d have managed the transition to this role, plus balancing demands in my personal life, as well without coaching.”

“The major benefit I feel I’ve had from my coaching sessions is the confidence it has given me at work, having the time to actually think about my development and where I want to go has given me more focus which has transferred into my role. Ideally I’d like to keep it going beyond the eight sessions if possible.”

Senior Producer

“The coaching has helped with time management and work/email overload, and if things hadn’t changed, I would have reached burnout.”

Senior management role

“Anna is a great coach and I found her services really beneficial when I was at a bit of a crossroads. Sessions are intense in terms of what you get out of them and they helped me to realise what I actually wanted – which in all honesty I’d be trying to work out for years.”

Broadcast Journalist

“If I could be coached by Anna every day I would – it’s definitely the recipe for success! I put in place the actions after each session and felt like I was really making progress at work. I also ended up talking about other parts of my life and realised what changes I wanted to make in these areas too.”

Fashion Industry PR

“I was a bit sceptical about coaching if I’m honest, but it turned out to be one of the best things I ever did. I now realise how easy it is to neglect really important elements of my life, like my family, when I get consumed by work. I now understand what makes me tick and what I want from life – and having time for work and home means I’m so much happier and content.”
